Disappointing Reads of 2020

My last post was the best books of 2020, so it is only fitting that I make a post talking about…well, my least favorite books of the year. I really don’t like talking negatively about any book, especially because a book that I didn’t like could be the same book that got another person into reading. However, I still wanted to highlight some books I had higher hopes for this year with the disclaimer that what didn’t work for me could end up being a favorite of yours!

Top 10 Books I Read in 2020

Ah, 2020…where do I even start? It’s safe to say that this was a crazy year for everyone, no matter where you are in the world. The one thing that I would normally say provided me comfort during tough times is books. But I can’t really say that this year. I love to read (omg…

Cozy Books to Read in Winter

If you’re anything like me, Winter is the perfect time of year for you. Why? Because while the world outside is cold and snowy, you can stay inside with heaps of blankets and get lost in a fictional world. All the books I’ve picked for this post are fantasy, mainly because my idea of a cozy getaway is a completely new world.

About me!

Hi friends! My name is Aarushi (she/her) and welcome to my blog 💖 I’m a 19 year old reader and decided to start this blog so I’d have a place where I could write down all my bookish rambles and thoughts!

I try to read from a wide variety of authors, genres, and stories. That being said, I largely favor fantasy, contemporary, and historical fiction. As a WOC, it is also very important for me to support and read diverse books with lots of representation. Also, very important to know, I’m a proud supporter of friends-to lovers, morally grey characters, and found family trope is superior.

Fun facts:

🌕 I’m an avid fan of sitcoms and believe they’re the best form of television
🌖 I’ve never really understood the Myers-Briggs personality types, but am an ISFP myself
🌗 I am very organized and have every day scheduled to a tee on my Google Calendar
🌘 Outside of reading, my other hobbies include hiking, biking, writing, and watching new shows and movies
🌑 My favorite character in the MCU is a tie between Peter Parker and Loki
🌒 I love watching movies, like I said before, and my favorites are anything with Saoirse Ronan
🌓 Standalones > series
🌔 I get into reading slumps way too much

Favorite books:

Gone (series), Percy Jackson (series), The Hunger Games (series), Monday’s Not Coming, The Astonishing Color of After, Eliza and her Monsters, A List of Cages, Daisy Jones & The Six, Legendborn, Six of Crows (duology)
