Books I Read in January

January was a relaxing start to the new year, and felt like it flew by way too quick.

I was on break for basically the entirety of the month, and I’m lucky enough to have had that time to relax after a stressful semester of classes. I managed to finish 4 books, which admittedly is less than I had hoped for. That being said, they were all high ratings, and I stand by the sentiment of quality over quantity.

Books That Got me Into Reading

As someone who has considered herself a reader for basically my whole life, it’s hard to pinpoint the *one* book that really got me invested in the hobby. Surprisingly, though, it’s a question I get asked a lot!

Reading books is something I’ve loved to do since the day I learned to read, and before then, I still really enjoyed listening to stories read to me. They’ve always just been a constant in my life, and I’m grateful it’s a hobby I never really grew out of.

MY 2021 FAVORITES || Yearly Wrap-Up

YOU GUYS!! Can you believe there’s only a few more days left of 2021 ๐Ÿ˜ณ this year felt like the longest ever, but at the same time flew by really quick.

There were a lot of firsts. I moved into an apartment, did my first in-person semester of college, and inevitably, made a lot of new experiences there, some good and some bad. Regardless of how this year turned out, I know it’ll be a memorable one for so many reasons.

All that being said, I’m ready to say bye to 2021.

2021 Diverse Book Releases

Confession time: I’ve only read one 2021 release this year.

When the year started, I made it my own personal mission to read as many books on my backlist TBR as possible. That means that I’ve read a lot of books I’d been meaning to pick up in previous years, and caught up on those instead of new ones.

Books as Songs from Red (Taylor’s Version)

I have been COUNTING DOWN THE DAYS until Taylor Swift drops Red (Taylor’s Version),,, and on November 12th, you can probably catch me laying on the floor of my room with a box of tissues nearby ๐Ÿฅฒ most of those tears will probably be shed from listening to the 10 minute version of All Too Well.

Now, whether or not you’re a self proclaimed swiftie, I’ve tried my best to have a book from a variety of genres so hopefully you can find something that fits the vibe! My goal was to have a book for everyone, but it did prove to be quite a challenge. This honestly might have been the hardest post I’ve ever written, and I realized in the process that I really have not read as much romance as I would’ve thought,,,and also I’m a huge fan of second-chance romance, apparently, so expect a lot of that.

NOTE: This list does not include every song from Red. I tried my best to do most of them though!

My Recent Reads & Why I Took A Break From Blogging

HELLO!!! It has been over a month (โ€ผ๏ธ) since my last post but I am back with a new one today ๐Ÿฅณ. So, there are a couple of reasons I haven’t been very active. To sum it up, I:

The Feelings Book Tag

It’s been a minute since I was tagged to do these, but hey, I’m finally getting around to book tags again! Thank you so so much if you’ve nominated me to do a tag and sorry it has taken me so long to get around to them. I promise I’ll catch up soon though, and today I’m going to be doing The Feelings Book Tag, which I was nominated to do by both Emily @Frappes And Fiction and Rania @Rania’s Rambling Reads . So again, thanks to Emily and Rania, and make sure you check their blogs out if you haven’t already ๐Ÿ˜

Book to Screen Adaptations That Are *Actually* Good

As readers, it is no secret that when our favorite books are announced to be turning into a show or movie, there’s usually a mix of emotions. Mostly, excitement and nervousness. A lot of times, movies/shows tend to ~mess up~ the book and I could probably give more bad examples of adaptations than good.

All that being said, there are definitely adaptations out there that have lived up to my expectations, and even a few that have surpassed them. All of these are my opinions and I’m only going to be talking about adaptations where I have read the book AND watched the movie or show.

Tweet Cute | book review

Surprise! I have been pretty bad about posting on here, which is kind of embarrassing since I said I’d be doing it more regularly in my June Wrap-Up ๐Ÿค  But truth be told, things have been a lot busier than I’d have expected. I’m wrapping up my summer courses (which are a lot harder than I’d have thought rip), preparing to move for college, and also practicing driving A LOT so I can *finally* get my license.

Thankfully, things aren’t too hectic to the point where I don’t get time to read! I’m excited to share my thoughts with you all on this fun YA contemporary <33
