Books I Read in January

January was a relaxing start to the new year, and felt like it flew by way too quick.

I was on break for basically the entirety of the month, and I’m lucky enough to have had that time to relax after a stressful semester of classes. I managed to finish 4 books, which admittedly is less than I had hoped for. That being said, they were all high ratings, and I stand by the sentiment of quality over quantity.

Books I Read in December | monthly wrap-up

Happy new year, friends! I hope the first couple days of 2022 have treated you well. I’ve been doing lots of reading and relaxing and it has been GREAT.

Surprisingly, I managed to read enough in December to finish the year with 51 books πŸŽ‰ πŸŽ‰πŸŽ‰ If you all remember a certain post, I was stressing about not being able to do that but thankfully everything worked out and I did some hardcore reading to reach my goal.

Disappointing Reads of 2021

Okay HELLO 😳 it has yet again been a full MONTH since my last post, and all I have to say for myself is that college is brutal. Final exams are next week, project deadlines are coming up, and to top it all off, I haven’t read anything since September.

Books as Songs from Red (Taylor’s Version)

I have been COUNTING DOWN THE DAYS until Taylor Swift drops Red (Taylor’s Version),,, and on November 12th, you can probably catch me laying on the floor of my room with a box of tissues nearby πŸ₯² most of those tears will probably be shed from listening to the 10 minute version of All Too Well.

Now, whether or not you’re a self proclaimed swiftie, I’ve tried my best to have a book from a variety of genres so hopefully you can find something that fits the vibe! My goal was to have a book for everyone, but it did prove to be quite a challenge. This honestly might have been the hardest post I’ve ever written, and I realized in the process that I really have not read as much romance as I would’ve thought,,,and also I’m a huge fan of second-chance romance, apparently, so expect a lot of that.

NOTE: This list does not include every song from Red. I tried my best to do most of them though!

Books I Read in July | monthly wrap-up

This is coming a little late, but hey, better late than never! July started off as a really slow reading month, but within the last two weeks is when I really picked up the pace and read most of the books for the month. I read a total of 5 books, which is pretty good for me.

That being said, in terms of blogging, I…did not deliver. Lol. I only posted like three times, if that, during the whole month and my only explanation is really that I was in what one may call a ✨ creative slump ✨. It was not fun and I’m still not 100% back to my usual self but I’m hoping it’ll pass soon!

Emergency Contact | book review

So, it’s been a minute since I’ve done a review! June was kind of a weird month for me in that I wasn’t able to read as many books as I would’ve liked. There’s still a few days left so hopefully I’ll be able to get a few more in before the end of the month but regardless, I wasn’t able to really post any reviews. Of course, that is totally okay and I’m still happy with my reading πŸ’ž Anyways, I just finished reading Emergency Contact today and wanted to share my thoughts!

If there was ever a book that just felt “okay”, then this would be the one. I didn’t love it or hate it, the characters were interesting but not too much, and the plot was entertaining at some times but otherwise felt a little forced. All that being said, I personally would not recommend it, but I know a lot of people who actually did love it so I would say give it a try if it sounds like something you’d enjoy!

Books I Read in May | monthly wrap-up

Is it just me or did May fly by way too fast?! I spent a lot of the month taking classes, having work, and also a little travelling for the first time in over a year πŸŽ‰ It has definitely been the best month of the year so far for me in terms of my mental health and just overall, so I take that as a huge win! A big part of that is I decided to step back from social media and putting pressure on myself to post. I archived a lot of old pics from my Bookstagram, and as much as I still occasionally go on there, I try not to spend more than 10 minutes. Everyone has their own limits and its important to know yours, but for me social media was just taking a huge toll so I did what I had to 🀧

Anyways, I also haven’t posted regularly on this blog because I’ve been more busy than usual but I haven’t been too inactive on here. This blog is honestly one of my favorite things to do and it genuinely makes me so happy to talk about books and get recommendations from so many other lovelies on here βœ¨πŸ’™

Getting into what you’re all probably here for lol, I read 6 books in May!! And I honestly enjoyed (almost) all of them, so that made me really happy as well. I was able to physically read a lot more as opposed to having to listen to audiobooks which was amazinggg to be able to do again :))

Crazy Rich Asians | book review

“Remember, every treasure comes with a price.”

My decision to read Crazy Rich Asians was pretty spontaneous and if I’m being honest, I didn’t even have any plans of ever picking it up. The main reason for that is I LOVE the movie (I would even go so far to say it’s one of my favorite rom-com films πŸ‘€) and was slightly nervous about whether or not the book would be a let down. I mean, as far as the movie goes, it was just such a fun time and full of ridiculous, extravagant characters whom you couldn’t help but love. I’ve watched the movie so many times at this point, and the thought of reading the book hadn’t even really crossed my mind.

BUT, I was scrolling through the Libby app on my phone to look for an audiobook I could listen to while working and Crazy Rich Asians was one of the only ones that really caught my eye. I decided to get it and…here we are! Hope you guys liked that (unnecessary) recount of why and how I read this book πŸ™ƒ

All the Books I Read in 2020

So, this post is coming very late and well after the New Year, but better late then never! I made a list of the Best Books I Read in 2020 and My Most Disappointing Reads of 2020, but there are so many other good books I read which I didn’t get a chance to highlight in those posts. Overall, 2020 was not the best year for me when it came to reading (and pretty much everything else πŸ™ƒ). I managed to finish 41 books, which I’d say is pretty damn good considering I was in a reading slump for a solid few months.
